Stealing gas in broad daylight

In times of economic hardship crime goes up because people’s needs are not being met. So with a growing number of financial forces working against us, are we going to start to see more instances of desperate lawlessness? Will we start to behave like characters in some bad disaster movie? Among many other things this report — about economic hardship in general and high gas prices in particular — mentions how way out in small towns like Tchula, Mississippi, people are so helpless against the high gas prices that they’re starting to FILL UP AND FLEE!!!
I didn’t get this on CNN or NYT or any of the usual outlets, sometimes the best way to find out what’s happening right here in this country is to seek out the reporting of news outlets well outside of this country.
