Friday funnies

Time to take a look at some of the political humor, stupid gaffes and omg moments of the week.

1. McCainical Dysfunction
John McCain got totally stumped in front of live cameras when a reporter asked him why insurance companies cover Viagra for men but not birth control pills for women. He tried to flee from the issue fast but she quickly reminded him that he voted for the legislation that resulted in the discrepancy. Mr. Straight Talk had no words, watch the clip:

2. Obama and the center
A satirist blogger named Andy Borowitz has a funny writeup here about the chatter surrounding Barack Obama’s so-called shift to the center. While Obama catches fire from pundits in his own party, Horowitz points out the hilarious ironies:

The liberal blogosphere was aflame today with new accusations that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) is trying to win the 2008 presidential election.

Suspicions about Sen. Obama’s true motives have been building over the past few weeks, but not until today have the bloggers called him out for betraying the Democratic Party’s losing tradition…

“Increasingly, Barack Obama’s message is becoming more accessible, appealing, and yes, potentially successful,” [Klugian] wrote. “Any Democrat who voted for Dukakis, Mondale or Kerry should regard this as a betrayal.”

3. Cable news has no nuts
The funny folks at 23/6 do a round up of the cable news anchors in their awkward moments as they try to convey what Jesse Jackson said about Barack Obama. 23/6 says “the true attraction for us wasn’t the story itself, but the beautiful awkwardness of watching every cable news anchor struggle to explain the story without being able to say one specific word.”

4. And there’s this
